Raquel Noboa is the founder and CEO of Fifty Shades Greener, an educational company for Sustainable Development through Green Skills application.
Her early career started in the Hospitality industry managing Hotels for over 20 years, and starting her own Green Journey at Hotel Doolin, in Ireland in 2012.
Within 2 years implementing Raquel’s green actions, the Hotel reduced its Energy use by 30%, waste by 40% and water use by 25%. Subsequently winning many awards and positioning the Hotel as a leader in the Sustainable travel market. Hotel Doolin is now the 1st Carbon Neutral Hotel in Ireland since 2019.
Raquel believes in small wins, and going at your own pace, because Greening should not make people jump through hoops, it is about knowing the environmentally sound options that are available, and applying those actions that make sense to each business. Starting small, get the big wins, and then look at possible investment projects to become even greener.
Raquel left her beloved career at Hotel Doolin in 2017 to found Fifty Shades Greener, initallly, as an environmental educational company for the Hospitality sector.
Since then, her career has gone from strength to strength, now working in Education, delivering Green Skills programmes to all industries and consulting for governments and large organisations, the private sector, schools and third level institutions.
Fifty Shades Greener mission is to embed Sustainability into all Educational Curriculums by 2025, to help educate a carbon conscious society that is aware of their impact on People and the Planet.

This seminar will commence with Fifty Shades Greener founder, Raquel Noboa, sharing her own green journey, from climate anxiety to international environmental educator, transforming a weakness into a career.
The seminar will explore the different sustainability themes necessary in education, developing different levels of green skills for curriculums, how small actions implemented by many can make a difference and culminating with the Sustainable development goals looking after People, Planet and Profit.
While environmental sustainability is the overarching theme of the seminar, it will also explore social justice as a vehicle to support climate action, how humans partake in behavioural change and what personal responsibility means for climate action.
