Prof. Simon Thompson

Professor Simon Thompson is Head the School of Education and Social work and is committed to best practice in higher education and teacher education pedagogy. After 20 years in university teaching and leadership he was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship for the quality and impact of his contribution. Simon has delivered pedagogic and change leadership courses in Beijing, Cyprus, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, India, Japan, Cambodia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. From January 2025 he will become the University’s Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor International, with responsibility and ambition to strengthen Sussex’s global partnerships and encourage student mobility from across the world.
