“The Integration of Videos as a Technological Tool for Enhancing English Vocabulary Learning
The seminar aims to elaborate the positive impact of the integration of videos in the classrooms on various aspects in learning English vocabulary. First aspect will be related to learning context-related vocabulary which encompasses learning specific words and phrases related to real-life situations. Also, the seminar will explore how the videos boost the retention of the vocab learnt in the classrooms, as the videos provide both visual and auditory cues. Moreover, one of the crucial aspects which will be provided in the seminar is the role of videos in exposing the learners to variety of accents by native speakers of the language throughout displaying authentic videos recorded by native speakers of the language. The seminar will also elaborate how the videos help in creating a more engaging environment in the classrooms, as the implementation of these videos deviate from the traditional teaching approaches to a more technology-based learning. Finally, videos will be shown as a tool for cultural exposure which encompasses the opportunity to learn about the cultural differences which the learners might be unfamiliar with, and eventually helps the learners to use appropriate language during their interaction with others from different cultural backgrounds.”
