“Clare has enjoyed a variety of roles in her career and she loves the process of skill building. Her career now revolves entirely around the exciting world of literacy, working for Scottish Book Trust, supporting schools, SMTs and teachers in the process of building a reading for pleasure culture.

Clare also delivers Bookbug Session Leader Training to those who are working with children in their early years, exploring how stories, songs and rhymes can help with children’s language and communication skills in their pre-school years and to show parents how they can best support their children at this stage.

A freelance trainer for the Jolly Learning organisation Clare has delivered training in Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar throughout the UK and internationally and has had the great pleasure of working in Oman, Egypt, Germany, Hungary and Greece as well as delivering online training in Norway, KRI and Iraq and to schools in all 4 countries of the UK.

She has contributed to the wonderful ICET event for several years and is delighted to work with the stellar team who organise it.”

Abstract / پوختە / الملخص :

This session will focus on the teaching of English to children in Early Years settings using the Jolly Classroom digital platform, based on Jolly Phonics – the programme being used in over 100 countries in the world because it is so effective. As children learn to communicate easily in both their home language and the English language we are supporting them in becoming future global citizens, at ease with talking, listening, reading and writing at local, national and international levels. Thus we are creating an inclusive learning environment using technology and traditional teaching skills to make literacy learning an enjoyable, meaningful experience for all learners.
