Certain hormones are known to help promote positive feelings, including happiness and pleasure. This seminar will focus on some classroom and teaching techniques that are supposed to stimulate these hormones in order to create a positive learning atmosphere that will promote self-directed learning and self-confidence in students. These hormones and their related functions can be listed as following: dopamine for positive incentives and feedback, oxytocin for positive teacher-student interaction, serotonin for self-esteem and sense of belonging in the classroom, and endorphin for coping with and enjoying challenges for students.
